PROVIDERS MAY BE REIMBURSED FOR PROVIDING
NO COST GAMBLING TREATMENT SERVICES

The Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration, in collaboration with Optum Maryland, will reimburse providers and private practitioners for providing gambling treatment services to Maryland residents at no cost to individuals and families seeking help.

This effort is to support and enhance the availability of counseling services, such as individual and group treatment, throughout the State to those impacted by the harms related to gambling and gambling disorder.  Providers and private practitioners offering no cost treatment are listed on the Maryland Problem Gambling Provider Referral Directory which is found on the Center’s websites and utilized by the Helpline 1-800-GAMBLER to connect persons to care.

Through the State’s designated Administrative Services Office (ASO) Optum Maryland, providers and private practitioners can offer gambling treatment services at no cost to Maryland residents with applicable coding and receive reimbursement directly through Medicaid or through the Problem Gambling Fund.
